IPASS Processing 1st Sports Festival

One of the company’s most memorable events happened last August 06, 2022. IPASS Processing held its first-ever Sports Festival. The IPASS SportsFeast was held at Davao Chung Hua High School, starting from 8:00 am and lasting up to 10:00 pm. Everyone was in the mood for a game, entertainment, and competition, whether it was an exciting game of volleyball or a quiet chess battle. 

The company divided everyone into four (4) teams: Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green. Everybody is fighting hard to claim every win in every game for their respective team. It was indeed a competitive battle. 

Morning Agenda

The call time started at 8:00 am. While everyone was waiting for the program proper to start, the employees practiced their group yells and presentations. When 10:00 am came, the parade started and was followed by the team’s production performance. After that, everybody settled down and listened to the invocation, led by Ma’am Nica and Sir Emman.

Miss Rachel Olivar, the CEO of IPASS Processing, gave her warmest welcome in her opening remarks, preluding the event. Afterward, our HR Manager started the passing of the torch ceremony and recited the athlete’s oath. Thus, officially opening the way to the games of the IPASS sports festival.

Physical games kickstarted the momentous occasion. The ball games held in the morning were basketball, volleyball, and badminton. It gave everyone adrenaline for the whole day of succeeding activities. 

The first men’s basketball game was between the Red vs. Green Team and the Yellow vs. Blue Team. The Red Team and Blue Team won respectively by a few points. Then the Red and Blue teams faced off in the final men’s basketball game. 

In volleyball, the teams who fought first were Yellow vs. Green and Blue vs. Red. Both the Yellow Team and Red Team won their respective games. Thus, in the finals, Yellow and Red butted it out. Finally, the Yellow Team emerged as victors. 

In badminton, Red vs. Blue and Green vs. Yellow played the first round. Green elegantly decimated Yellow. Simultaneously, Blue snatched the win at badminton versus Red, thus making the Red Team contenders for the Green Team. Eventually, the Green Team took the badminton championship. 

Midday Dinner

After the ball games, it was time to refresh everyone’s energy and enthusiasm at lunchtime. First, everybody got their food and then mingled and socialized with friends and coworkers. The midday meal lasted for an hour, and then everyone was back to playing again.

Afternoon Wits

Mind games and eGames are the highlights of the afternoon games. Blue and Green battled it out in the first game of eSports, ML (Mobile Legends), and the Blue Team won. After that, Yellow stomped the game against Red, so both winners fought for the championship. In the end, the Yellow Team got the medal.

On the other hand, mind games such as Scrabble and Word Factory are also on the go. All four teams fight for the better composition of words to have the highest score. In the end, the Green Team triumphed in Word Factory. Additionally, the Red Team also earned the medal in Scrabble.

Pinoy Games

The National Games or Larong Pambansa are among the most anticipated events of the IPASS employees for this sports festival. These Pinoy Games are Luksong Lubid, Piko Flag and Chinese Garter. Not everyone could participate in the game, but everybody watched it. 

Yellow took the victory in both Chinese Garter and Luksong Lubid. At Piko Flag, the people of the Green team ram their way through and get the win, leaving the Yellow Team in second place. While immersing in the highlights, the personnel gave out various snacks and water to keep everyone’s vigor. 

Announcement of Winners

The fun and socialization continued even after the games finished. It filled up the whole afternoon. As the evening begins, the awarding follows. The staff tallied all the scores, and when they did it, the announcers gave nail-biting suspense to give out who the champion was.

The Yellow Team won the championship. No surprise there. Then, the Blue Team secured first place, followed by the Red Team in second. Finally, the Green Team is in third place. 

Everybody is the winner of the IPASS Processing first ever sports festival. Of course, everyone got their medals and prizes, but the fun didn’t end there. 

Siesta and Hearsay Supper 

After the awarding, the event took a break. Everyone settled down, relaxed, and tried to gather their strength for the next plan. Everyone was chatting, resting, and snacking for a couple of minutes. 

Following the siesta hour is supper. The evening turned out chill and cozy. Nonetheless, eating and talking about work, outside life, love life, and other topics can be heard throughout the gymnasium. As a result, a peaceful and joyous aura settled all over the auditorium.  

Last Note Piece

Everyone finished dinner, but the night was far from over. IPASS Processing hired a band to serenade everyone after a full day’s worth of games and activities. The band performed multiple songs to rejuvenate the night. After a song or two, people started loosening up. 

Another couple of songs, and some stood up and moved their hips. Then, after a while, the band took a break and ate dinner, but not before telling everybody they could use their instruments and play on stage. 

The first one who stands is a pair. The girl grabbed the mic, and the boy tuned the guitar. They sang a couple of songs that made the crowd swoon. Then, another guy went and stood and sang a duet with the girl who sang earlier. Soon after, the band finished their dinner and went back on stage. And since then, the place has been loud until the end.

The band livened up the crowd till it was time to end. Ma’am Joyce ended the whole event with her heartfelt closing remark. After that, everyone cleaned up and went home after a long yet exciting day.

A Peculiar Relaxation

The IPASS Processing’s Sports Festival is oddly fulfilling, as exhausting as it is. Through the days of the week, we mostly sit in front of our desks doing our workloads; bodies often forget to move. 

Engaging in sports and other games is the best way to stretch our always-sitting anatomy. Additionally, this IPASS Sportsfest allows everybody to build better connections and foster relationships with their fellow workmates. 

August 6, 2022, is when one of the company’s greatest moments transpired. May it be an intense game of volleyball or a silent war of chess, everyone was immersed in the spirit of amusement and unwinding.
